Part-time Accounting Clerk
Carolina Christian College is looking for a skilled part-time accounting clerk to work 20-30 hours per week. Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements and financial aid disbursements. The accounting clerk will also use accounting software programs (e.g. Quickbooks, COD, G5) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and administrative support to the business office
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare general ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Provide assistance and support to the Director of Finance
- Prepare monthly financial aid reconciliations
- Reconcile various expenditure reports to source documents; distributes and files financial documents and reports.
- Manage accounts payables
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
- Work environment will be hybrid with both face-to-face and virtual work hours
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an accounts receivable clerk or accounts payable clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Familiarity with Federal Financial Aid Guidelines
- Experience in Higher Education, preferably student billing
- Ability to use automated accounting systems
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Associate degree in accounting
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organized
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Salary
- Pay Range $18-$23
