There some major changes coming to the CCC athletic department. To increase the quality and competitiveness of our athletic programs, we have hired a new Athletic Director.

Maurice Crocker, the former owner of SHOWTIME PHYSIQUE Health and Wellness Studio, LLC and a Personal Trainer for 19 years in the Triad area.  He is a graduate of North Carolina Central University, with a degree in English-Literature and Journalism.  Upon graduation, his professional career began working as journalist for a New York Times newspaper in Thibodaux, La.  After several years as a journalist, Maurice ventured into corporate America and began working for American Express Card Services.  Utilizing his journalistic skills and talents, worked as an Instructional Designer.  Writing and developing training manuals as well as policy and procedures.   Maurice decided to follow his passion for health and fitness and started SHOWTIME PHYSIQUE Health and Wellness Studio to help other achieve their health and fitness goals.  He is certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).  Maurice is also a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, with the Cancer Exercise Training Institute.  Other certifications include Functional Aging Exercise Instructor, from the Functional Aging Institute.  Maurice has numerous years of experience coaching middle and high school athletics.  He is currently the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, NC.  He also serves as an assistant coach for the varsity baseball team, which is currently ranked 16th in the nation.

Maurice is not a stranger to Carolina Christian College.  He served as a board member for seven years.  Maurice has been married for 27 years to his college sweetheart Kimberly Jessup Crocker.  They have two sons Myles (19) and Mason (11).   In addition to being a leader and developer of athletes, he is also a servant and dedicated to serving his community through several organizations.  Maurice is a member of Salem Lodge #139, PHA and a member or Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.  Maurice is a welcome addition to the team, and we have high hopes the he will take our athletic program to the next level.

In addition to new leadership in the athletic department, we  our proud to welcome our new Womens’s  Basketball coach Daryl Smith.

Daryl Smith Jr., a Detroit, Michigan native, brings over ten years of experience in coaching, developing, and mentoring athletes. His background includes placing professional players, serving as an athletic director, and most recently, leading the Henry Ford College women’s basketball program in Dearborn, MI.

Coach Smith is determined to elevate Carolina Christian College’s competitiveness on a national scale.

 

Carolina Christian College is also elated to announce that we are introducing the women’s soccer program beginning fall 24. Our Men’s soccer coach Matt Kelly will also take the helm of the Womens program and is pushing to create and elite programs and opportunities for student athletes.
