SAFETY – BEST PRACTICES
A part of our focus on safety is to always ensure that all our constituents practice safety awareness. Below are some best practices to make habits for your safety:
- Be aware of your surroundings and the people around you.
- Make eye contact when walking and do not engage strangers on the street, in parking lots, or while waiting for a bus.
- Always lock your vehicle and secure your personal property.
- Stay in well-lit areas.
- If you leave a building late or in the evening after dark, walk out with other people.
- Do not give your key or key code to anyone.
- Immediately report any crimes or incidents to the Winston-Salem Police Department (or your local police department) and/or campus personnel as needed.
The City of Winston-Salem and the police department also provide crime prevention programs, safety assistance, and a virtual self-defense seminar. Please see:

INCLEMENT WEATHER
In most weather conditions, Carolina Christian College will remain open. If the campus will be closed for any reason, faculty, staff, and students will be informed via text alerts.
Student housing is provided for student athletes who are not from the local area. If a student remains in housing during a storm, the Head Coach and/or Dean of Students will provide safety instructions
for residents which could include sanctuary at the President’s home. Text alerts are disseminated to students with emergency procedures. Students, faculty, and staff are responsible for updating the College with a current cell phone number.
WEAPONS POLICY
No weapons of any kind are permitted in any CCC sponsored housing. Residents who bring anything deemed to be a weapon into a residence are subject to disciplinary action,
including suspension of their housing contract and dismissal from the College.
PETS ON CAMPUS
No pets are allowed on campus or in CCC sponsored housing. Any violation is automatic grounds for dismissal and a $200 pet cleaning fee will be assessed for any violations automatically.
Students, faculty, or staff with authorized service animals are allowed to bring their service animal with proper documentation. Students with authorized emotional support animals will be able to have
their support animal in student housing but will be assessed a $200 pet cleaning fee each semester for those who reside in CCC sponsored housing.
AUTHORIZATION TO RELEASE INFORMATION
Carolina Christian College does not release information regarding any student who is 18 years of age or older unless the student has completed and submitted a form authorizing the release of information.
On the form, the student must identify, by name, the individual(s) to whom he or she wishes to permit the College to release information. The student may rescind the authorization or change the
individual(s) to whom information may be released at any time. To complete or update the form, students may speak with any of the academic administrators.
Carolina Christian College may legally release information to the parent or legal guardian of any student who is under the age of 18 regardless of authorization by the student, unless the student is identified as an emancipated minor.
SEXUAL MISCONDUCT
The College supports its educational mission by fostering a community based on civility, dignity, diversity, inclusivity, education, equality, freedom, honesty, and safety.
Consistent with these values, the College is committed to providing a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living, and working environment for all members of the campus community.
The College prohibits sexual assault, sexual and gender-based harassment, intimate partner violence, stalking, retaliation, and violation of interim measures (collectively Prohibited Conduct).
Prohibited Conduct is expressly forbidden and will not be tolerated at the College. It may also violate federal and state law.
Any violation of the Sexual Misconduct policy may be reported to any CCC employee or directly to either of the Title IX co-coordinators. It should be noted that any misconduct disclosed during a pastoral
counseling session is considered confidential. Staff members who are operating in the capacity of pastoral counselor will disclose at the beginning of the counseling session that all discussion will be confidential.
If the discussion is not a part of a pastoral counseling session, the misconduct must be reported to one of the Title IX co-coordinators.

for which the student was receiving federal student aid (grants, loans, and/or work-study). Please see the link below to the full description of the impacts of drug convictions on federal student aid eligibility.

VACCINATION POLICIES
North Carolina State Law mandates that all students entering college present a certificate of immunization, which documents that the student has received immunizations required by law.
All new, transfer, and readmitted students must complete an immunization record and have it submitted to the Admissions Department prior to enrolling in classes.
Please visit the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services to review N.C. Immunization Requirements for students attending college. Any exemptions will be identified by the Admission staff and notification sent to the student.
We highly encourage all students to be vaccinated against COVID-19. If a student is not vaccinated, they must submit weekly testing results to the Dean of Students and remain masked while on campus or attending a campus event.
Please see the link below to the COVID-19 POLICY.
